A set of high frequency switching power supply is installed in a communication room in Gansu Province to supply power to communication equipment. The system was put into operation in 2016, and the current DC load is 15A.

No matter what kind of material (copper, aluminum) the conductor uses, it will cause a certain voltage loss of the line, and this loss (voltage drop) is not more than 5% of the output voltage, which is normal.
When the transmission distance of 220 V / 380 V power output cable is long, if it is more than 500 meters, the problem of line voltage drop must be considered to avoid that the equipment cannot work normally due to too low voltage.
According to the calculation, the length is 2km and the DC load is 15A. Considering that two groups of batteries need to be charged, according to the total load 3KW, the switch power AC input cable needs to be equipped with 50mm2 copper cable or 95mm2 aluminum cable to meet the national power supply standard.
At present, the AC input cable of the high frequency switching power supply system in use in the communication room is 16mm2 aluminum cable, with a length of 2km. Obviously, the power supply cable is not big enough.
In view of the customer's problems, our company has developed two solutions, the first is to replace the power cable; the second is to use the DC remote power supply system.
